Richard “Dick” Henry MacQuiddy
Jan. 17, 1927 – Sept. 9, 2007

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 22, 11:00 AM at the Church of Christ building in Crescent City.

A remembrance reception will follow at about 1:00 PM at the MacQuiddy home.

Everyone who knew Richard, Beth, or their family is welcome to attend one or both gatherings. Contact the church office for addresses, directions, and more information.

We begin the New Testament October 1! Join us in reading the history and letters in chronological order. The four “Jesus books” (gospels) are first!

Small Groups begin in October

Small group leaders began their training September 27. Each leader team plans to start a group September 30. This will start four groups, each with 6-8 current worship attenders, and two or more open seats for seekers.

Our goal is to have enough small groups for the whole church. The amazing (scary?) part is that each group intentionally invites one or two seekers. These may be people who used to attend, but don’t. Or, they are looking for a church home–here we are! So each small group plans to grow, even as we raise up enough small group leaders just to have room for the church we have.

So each group will only hold 6-8 current church members. When the group reaches 10-12 people, it’s time for the leader or leader apprentice to start a new group. Exciting! A little scary–this is a new direction for us. But considering how fast the first church grew (Acts 1-4), it’s definitely inspired.
